Hi Friends!
Welcome to all aspiring CA's. I have few experiences in studying
CA. I have found out some easy techniques to get through CA easily. I want to
share those with all. I don't think CA is so tough.
CPT PREPARATION PATTERN
HOW TO PREPARE FOR CPT?
- Go to the link : http://www.cashiksha.com/ register
as a member and you can access basic CA classes for free.It helps you
a lot.
- Read the board text book
thoroughly. Nothing comes out of text book.
- Keep a pen and paper aside
and note down all the important points.
- Compulsorily solve all the
example problems, example problems, bits in the text book.30-40% bits are
from textbook of similar problems.
- Download the MTP Cover Book
from this site or you can get it through board. Solving this is more
important than the test papers provided along with text books. I observed
that MTP covers the bits repeated in the examinations.(Go to CPT
MATERIAL PAGE and download )
- Next see through the
memorised questions of Past papers provided in the CPT MATERIAL PAGE.
- Practice test papers given
along with text books following the time pattern of examination.
NOTE:
- In Accounting you need to be
thorough with basic journal entries. Also concentrate on the accounting
policies Atleast one bit from these accounting policies and two to
three bits from the journal entries appear in the exam. Practice all the
models of examples and excercise with good effort as the very same appear
in the exam to the far extent.
- In Mercantile laws prepare
all the bits in the text book from the excercises. In addition to this be
thorough with sections. They are very important and may sometimes be
asked.
- General Economics needs self
preparation and good understanding of the concepts for Micro Part and
Macro part is only to remember the points. Important bits of Macro part to
be remembered are provided. You can download them and study them to remember
the figures easily.
- In Quantitative Aptitude
Refer Intermediate S. Chand Eamcet bits book for chapters like
Probability, Permutations & Combinations, Coordinate Geometry Basics.
Statistics part preparation needs to be concentrated on theory part especially.
Don't waste your time on Sums that take long time in statistics. In
Statistics be thorough with the formulas, limits, definitions, properties
and easy problems.
EXAM TIPS
MENTAL PREPARATION:
- Don't study in a hurry
before exam. Be cool. Just prepare what you feel you are forgetting always
in a few sheets and take that along with you to study before few minutes
to exam. If you feel that is not necessary it's ok. Prepare yourself in
mind.
- Carry a small water bottle
with you. That is allowed into the examination hall. Drink water if you
feel nervous and pacify yourself just before the exam and at intervals
during the exam for a sec.
- Carry your Hall Ticket, a
Black Ball point pen, HB pencil, Non Dust Eraser, Sharpener with you
without fail. Don't depend on others. There are many others like us who
think others will lend us during the exam
- First solve your paper
instead of peeping into others paper. Question papers are of four sets. So
don't waste your time on discussing during exam.
TIME ALLOTMENT FOR ANSWERING QUESTIONS:
- Best method is allot time
for each paper. You have two hours time for each session. In the first
session you can allot 90min for Accounting and 30min for Mercantile Laws. In
the second session allot 40min for Economics and 80min for Quantitative
aptitude.
- First solve all theory bits
and then go for problems. That saves your time.
ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS:
- Mark the answers on the OMR
sheet along with the solving. Don't wait for last minute to finish up all
and then mark on the sheet meanwhile marking on the question paper. Though
subsequent marking of options on the OMR sheet is time consuming it is the
safe method. Invigilators are strict and they pull away your paper at the
end after the time is over. They don't grant you extra time. Please keep
this in mind. Practice this from the beginning itself
- Mark the right option only. Don't
go for blind guesses and lose your marks. Remember that you lose 1Mark if
you quit a question you don't know and you lose 0.25 Mark as a negative
mark.Be careful
- If you have extra time check
your marking on the OMR sheet first and then go for answering the
questions you have left.
All this is by experience.
I promise. If you follow all the above you can easily
score around 130-180 marks.
(I'm an average M.P.C
Student with no touch of Accounts, Economics, & Law. With Simple Above
Preparation Procedure, in Two months Time I was able to score 118 marks. I lost
my marks in negative marking. And more time for preparation would have fetched
me more marks I suppose.)
